What You Will Need:

- One roll wide (1 1/2") Sk8Tape
- Scissors
- Utility knife

The laces should be removed only if you want Sk8Tape to cover the leather surrounding the lace holes. It is OK to stretch Sk8Tape as you pull it off the roll but allow the tape to retract before applying to the boot, especially at the instep. For longer strips (i.e. across the side of the boot), use one hand to hold the roll and act as a guide to line up the tape. Use the other hand to press and smooth the tape down as you work your way across the boot.

Directions

Step 1 Place a strip of Sk8Tape around the toe area along the sole. The ends of the strip should be in line with any of the first few lace holes. (Excess tape covering the sole can be trimmed later).
Step 2 Begin applying Sk8Tape by overlapping the end of the previously applied strip. Line up the strip so it is parallel to the bottom of the boot and extends over part of the sole. Let the tape retract, then slowly press down on the tape by firmly sliding your hand across the strip.
Step 3 Start the next row above the first wide strip. Apply wide Sk8Tape parallel to the previously applied strip, overlapping a few millimeters. Cut. Repeat on other side.
Step 4 For the remainder of the boot, you may start applying the wide Sk8Tape from the back. Continue across the boot and extend the tape completely past the lace holes.
Step 5 Carefully trim off excess Sk8Tape with a utility knife as shown by the arrows. Use the knife as shown by the arrows. Use the knife along the sole, along the lace holes, hooks, and at the top of the boot. Apply light pressure when trimming the tape to avoid puncturing the leather.
Step 6 Place a strip of Sk8Tape across the toe area above the first strip as shown in Step 1. Both ends of the strip should extend past the sole.
Step 7 Place additional strips across the toe until the lace area is reached. Trim off excess with utility knife.
Step 8 Apply wide Sk8Tape horizontally across the tongue. At each row, cut the tape so that the ends of each strip are in line with the edges of the tongue.

    
Additional Information
- Push out any trapped air bubbles
- Remove excess tape with utility knife
- If your boot has any big creases (e.g. where the ankle bends), use the utility knife to cut slits in the tape directly on top and along the creases. This will allow Sk8Tape to conform better to your boot when you bend.
- To prevent discoloration and adhesive property changes, avoid placing Sk8Tape and taped boots in the sun or excessive heat.
- It is highly recommended that you replace the Sk8Tape on your boots every 1 to 2 months.
